Mr. Sitapati is a business leader with over 25 years of experience in the FMCG and consumer goods industry, spanning sales, marketing, brand building and general management in India and international markets. He served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Godrej Consumer Products Limited from October 2021 to August 2026. Before that, he spent over two decades at Hindustan Unilever Limited, where he served as Executive Director, Foods and Refreshments. His experience included leading the merger and integration of GSK Consumer Healthcare with HUL and working across India, Europe, Southeast Asia and Africa. He currently serves as an Independent Director on the Board of Asian Paints Limited. He has previously served as Chair of the Confederation of Indian Industry’s FMCG Committee, Co-Chair of its National Committee on Food Processing, and a member of Flipkart’s advisory board. He is the author of The CEO Factory: Management Lessons from Hindustan Unilever. He completed the Post Graduate Programme in Management at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad in 1999 and holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics with Economics Honours from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai (1997). He received IIM Ahmedabad’s Young Alumni Achiever’s Award in the Corporate Leadership category in 2017.
